Back of the 2013-15 Operating Budget Cuts
Possible Lean Reductions: The Legislature has directed OFM to reduce funding for state agencies by
$30 million in fiscal year 2015 to “reflect savings resulting from the application of lean management
and performance management strategies.”
IT Reductions: The Legislature has directed OFM to reduce funding for state agencies by $5 million,
split evenly between fiscal years, “to drive efficiency in information technology expenditures
statewide.”
MOTION:
It was moved and seconded that WACTC approve the proposed IT reduction
allocation as presented:
Step One: Account for the system’s centralized IT function (stated as a percentage
of our adjusted, self-reported IT expenditures) and use the percentage as the
centralized IT function’s share of the reduction ($37,589).
