APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: It was moved and seconded that WACTC approve the Sept. 26, 2014 minutes without corrections. MOTION PASSED. TREASURER’S REPORT Jim Richardson presented the WACTC Treasurer’s Report with an ending balance of $66,684.49 as of Oct. 6, 2014. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT – Ed Brewster, WACTC president • • Allocation Subcommittee update. Workforce Investment Opportunities Act update. OPERATING BUDGET COMMITTEE REPORT – Tom Keegan, chair • • • 2015-17 Operating Budget update – upcoming milestones. o Revenue Forecast: Nov. 19, 2014. o Governor’s Budget Proposal: Dec. 16, 2014. 2015 Allocation update. ctcLink ongoing maintenance contract cost shortfall update. TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE REPORT – Chris Bailey, chair • • • • Core technologies process flow. Library Leadership Council’s Integrated Library System proposal update. ctcLink project update. o FirstLink go live date: Feb. 23, 2015. Mobile RFP update. MOTION: It was moved and seconded that WACTC approves the selection of Highpoint as the successful mobile provider and its negotiated charges. The first year charge, including the license fee plus one year maintenance, will be $13,800 per college (34). Beginning the second year, the annual maintenance charge will be $2,500 per college (34). The colleges will be invoiced directly via the existing SBCTC invoicing process. MOTION PASSED. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES COMMITTEE REPORT – Marty Cavalluzzi, vice chair • • Joint meeting of WACTC, K-12 superintendents, and university provosts debrief. Title IX and Violence Against Women Act. MOTION: It was moved and seconded that WACTC asks the Student Services Commission, in conjunction with the Human Resources Management Commission and Instruction Commission, to organize a sexual assault prevention summit for the system. MOTION PASSED. LEGISLATIVE & PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE REPORT – Kathi Hiyane-Brown, member • • Election results. 2015 Possible Policy Priorities. o Basic Education for Adults caseload forecast. o Corrections education. TACTC REPORT – Tyler Page, TACTC president-elect • • Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Congress: Oct. 22-25, 2014. o Washington State college presentations: Bellevue College , Edmonds Community College, Highline College, Peninsula College/Skagit Valley College, and Wenatchee Valley College/Bridgeport High School. o National ACCT Equity Award winner: Seattle Colleges. o ACCT secretary-treasurer election: Emily Yim, Edmonds Community College trustee. o National Council of State Association of Chief Executives (NCSACE) vice-president election: Kim Tanaka, TACTC director. EXECUTIVE SESSION Ed Brewster called for an executive session at 10:30 a.m. to discuss compensation. The executive session adjourned at 11:40 a.m. with no action taken.
