Lisa and Angela shared the purpose and use and data of the annual report. Group discussion: Directors share their experience about being a part of the Campus Coalition. What does it mean for us to be a part of this group? Support group Welcoming and friendly Sharing of ideas The group promotes leadership Helpful to new staff Comforting to know that we are not alone with issues that occur at our centers So much knowledge among the group Talked about closing procedures and safety policy of children being left in the center. Each member shared the structure of their program (staffing, enrollment size, salary scale, What are the requirements for early childhood staff? What do early childhood staff make? Specialists 1, 2, and 3. Group discussion. The focus of the morning is on staff qualification and education. Centers are struggling with keeping their centers staffed. Leslie: asks about centers enrolling staff and faculty. Do other centers experience breech of confidentiality between staff and parents who are staff and faculty on campus? Send out as an attachment Questions: Toni: are there any policies on photographs of children? - Edmonds has a written clause stating the photographs are used for the purpose of promoting the center. - Clover Pk has a release for pictures. No group photos for Teaching Strategies pictures, single pictures only. Robin: how many centers have a “no cell phone” policy? - Peninsula must carry cell phones for security purposes Toni: are back ground checks and ten hour trainings paid for by the college? - STARS training - In house training Next meeting: Clover Park – January 22, 2016 Next items.
