FOR

RENEWAL OF ADDITIONAL SCHOOL LEVY

TO THE VOTERS OF MARION COUNTY

TAKE NOTICE

That, at a regular meeting of the Board of Education of the County of Marion, State of

West Virginia, held on theA3Clay of MA

, 2013, as provided by law, the following was made and entered on record, to with:

The Board of Education of the County of Marion, being of the opinion that the Maximum

Levies for Current Expenses authorized by Article 8, Chapter 11, of the Code of

West Virginia, as amended, will not provide sufficient funds for the payment of current expenses of the Board of Education, including expenditures for the purpose or purposes hereinafter set forth, and that an election should be held to increase such levies under the provision of Section 16, Article 8, chapter 11 of the Code, as amended it is hereby ordered.

1. That the purpose for which additional funds are needed is as follows:

A. To continue to provide free textbooks, subject matter materials, media materials, teaching equipment and instructional supplies.

B. To maintain professional salaries, dental/optical insurance, and other benefits.

C. To provide for continuous maintenance and operations of buildings and upgrading of the transportation fleet.

D. To maintain salaries of service personnel, dental/optical insurance, and other benefits.

E. To provide technology, capital, and infrastructure upgrades.

2. That the approximate amount of each purpose is as follows:

A. To continue to provide for free textbooks, subject matter materials, media materials, teaching equipment and instructional supplies, at an annual approximate amount of $ 1,817,459.00

B. To maintain salaries of professional personnel, dental/optical insurance, and other benefits at an annual approximate amount of $ 6,185,978.00

C. To provide for continuous maintenance of buildings and upgrading of the transportation fleet at an annual approximate amount of

Each fiscal year, additional projected revenue may be forthcoming to the

Marion County Schools as a result of augmented assessed valuations of taxable property, after allowing for homestead exemptions, tax discounts, delinquencies, and exonerations. As a result, thereof, should any such additional projected revenue be forthcoming, the Board of Education of the County of Marion is hereby directed to allocate the additional local monies raised by this special levy on the same percentages as defined on the designated levy to A, B, C, and D categories.

Furthermore, the official certificate of assessed valuations as provided by the

Assessor of Marion County, on or about March 7 of each year, shall be the only singular document used to calculate the foregoing distribution of projected revenue. No other documents, reports, financial information, and/or date will apply to this provision.

If additional revenue is projected to be collected, the Marion County Board of

Education has the option to reduce the levy rates in one or more of the years beginning July 1, 2014; July 1, 2015; July, 2016; July 1, 2017; and July 1, 2018.

That the separate and aggregate assessed valuation of each class of taxable property within the County of Marion, is as follows:

That the proposed years to which the renewed additional levy shall apply, are the fiscal years beginning July 1, 2014; July 1, 2015; July 1,

2016; July 1, 2017; and July 1, 2018.

That the Marion County Schools will not issue bonds obligating the receipts of this levy upon approval of the proposed increased levy.

That the question of such renewed additional levy shall be submitted to a vote at a Special Election to be held on the 12th day of October, 2013.

11.

That the notice calling such election shall be given by the publication of this order at least once each week for two successive weeks before said election in the local newspaper and of general circulation in the territory in which the election is held. All the provisions of the laws concerning general elections shall apply as far as they are practicable.

12.

The ballot to be used at such election shall be in the form as follows:
