Schaeffler's E-Recruiting System
Terms of use and data protection policy
Schaeffler's E-Recruiting System is an Internet-based application of Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG and
companies affiliated with it and participating in the system (Schaeffler). Schaeffler operates this application
worldwide for publishing career opportunities and managing the recruitment process. You can use the ERecruiting System to obtain access to our global job market at any time.
1. Terms of Use
1.1. Notes on Registration for external Candidates
To use the E-Recruiting System it will be necessary for you to provide us with a minimum amount of information
for registration purposes (last name and e-mail address). Provision of additional information will not be
immediately necessary. All fields marked with an * are mandatory fields and participation is not possible if they
are not filled in. All additional fields are optional fields. You will not be immediately visible to our employees after
registering in the E-Recruiting System. An application for a specific position or activation of your data for the
global candidate pool is required for this purpose.
Please use your private e-mail addresses exclusively for registration to avoid conflicts with your current employer.
1.2. Tips for Submitting Applications
In addition to the information stated above, when applying for specific positions, you must provide additional
relevant data. With your consent to our terms of use, you confirm that the information you have made available to
us was given truthfully and to the best of your knowledge. We reserve the right to request submission of original
copies (e.g. of certificates) at a later stage in the process.
Employees of Schaeffler will not see your data until you have activated it. For example by “submitting” your
application. After you are “logged on” you can check the status of your applications, withdraw applications you
have already sent, delete applications you have not yet sent or block your profile. You will continue to have
access to withdrawn or blocked applications when “logged on”.
Please note that when applying for positions offered outside of Germany (or outside of the European Union) you
may be requested to provide additional/different data. This information is permissible or even obligatory under the
laws applicable to the respective country. When you enter your data you issue your consent to have your data
stored and processed.
The data will be forwarded only to authorized persons in the respective countries. The main administrators also
have access to your data for the purpose of maintaining the system and ensuring data security.
1.3. Global Candidate Pool
By activating your profile for our global candidate pool, you will make your personal data available to us for the
purpose of a job search beyond a specific application and thereby explicitly express your willingness to change
jobs. We may contact you to inform you of relevant job offers. If you do not agree with this, you can block your
profile at any time. External candidates can also completely delete their profile from our E-Recruiting System.
1.4. Protection of Children
The protection and privacy of children is a special concern of ours. We therefore do not collect, process or use
information about persons if we know that they are younger than 14 years of age. If you are younger than 18, we
assume that you have your parents' or legal guardian's permission to submit this application. On request, legal
representatives may review the information available to us and require it to be deleted.
1.5. Other Notes
You are not entitled to post racist, extremist, sexist, otherwise discriminatory, illegal or insulting messages. In
case of violations we reserve the right to delete this data as well as institute further (legal) action.

2. Data Protection Policy
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We would like to inform you about our data protection
principles and processes for using your personal data in connection with your application via our E-Recruiting
System. This data protection policy applies to the E-Recruiting System of Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG
as well as the participating companies. If you have applied for a specific position offered by a participating
company (see 2.2 Applicant) the respective company's data protection provisions for processing your data take
precedence. You can find these provisions via the link provided in the introduction.
2.1. Controller of the Data File
The controller of the data file within the meaning of Section 3 para. 7 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG):
Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG
Industriestr. 1-3
91074 Herzogenaurach
Germany
If Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG collects, processes or uses data on behalf of another company, the
outsourcing company is the controller of the data file. In each case this is the company listed in the job offer.
2.2. Collection of Personal Data / Earmarking
Your personal data will be processed and used exclusively for application purposes pursuant to the applicable
German data protection provisions. Your data will also be used only for candidate searches and for profile
comparisons if you have authorized us to do so by releasing your data for the global candidate pool. When it is
entered, your data is transferred to the HR management system and processed there.
After you enter your basic data and possibly additional details regarding yourself and your history, you can
maintain and release your profile at four different levels:
1) Registration:
You provide basic data only (last name and e-mail address). When you register in the
E-Recruiting System you are not yet visible to any of our employees. For internal
candidates the following applies: Every employee already has an internal candidate
profile without having to register.
2) Prospect:
You can enter as much data as you wish and use it later for other applications or other
services (e.g. newsletter). Only you and Schaeffler's HR department employees can
see your data.
3) Applicant:
You apply for a specific position. Your data will be recorded. Only you and the
employees involved in the selection process will see your data.
4) Candidate:
You release your profile for the global candidate pool. You thereby enable us to find
your profile via search functions and to compare positions that you may be interested
in. We may contact you by telephone, in writing or e-mail to inform you of relevant job
opportunities.
Personal data is treated confidentially. We transfer personal data to governmental institutions and authorities only
if we are legally required to do so. Our employees are obligated to maintain confidentiality and data secrecy.
We transfer data to third parties exclusively within Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG and its affiliated
companies. You may decide which data the respective departments and/or companies may view by selecting
your areas of interest and/or your regional preferences.
2.3. Access and Editing Rights / Deletion
You can view, change, block or release your data at any time. If you are no longer interested in employment with
Schaeffler, you can, as an external candidate, use your access data to log in to the system and permanently
delete your profile under “Candidate Profile”.

2.4. Automatic Deletion of external Candidate Data
There are three different variants for automatic deletion of your data:
1) Prospect:
Data will be deleted 6 months after registration if it is not updated during this period.
2) Candidate:
By releasing your profile your data will be stored in the global candidate pool. We
reserve the right to delete your profile after 6 months if it is not updated during this
period.
3) Applicant:
Data is deleted 6 months after a position is filled if the application is not updated during
this period.
You will be notified about the deletion of your data.
The data is then permanently deleted and cannot be reconstructed. If shorter periods for deleting data apply in
countries outside of Germany, they will be applied.
The complete deletion of the candidate profile for internal candidates is not possible. However, any data you have
entered yourself can be deleted at any time. The already existing profile will be preserved. Applications are
deleted 6 months after a position is filled.
2.5. Data Security
Technical and organizational security measures are applied at Schaeffler to protect the data you have made
available from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. When
personal data is collected and processed, the information is transferred in encoded form to prevent abuse of the
data by third parties. Our security measures are continuously revised in accordance with technical developments.
2.6. Contact
If you have questions regarding the processing of your personal data, you can contact our data protection officer
directly, who is also available for requests for information, applications or complaints:

2.7. Country-specific special features
2.7.1. Austria
If you wish to apply for positions advertised in Austria, we request that you do not provide any information
regarding your marital status, current annual salary, or the status of your current employment or reasons for
leaving. Should you still have completed these fields, the relevant data will not be used in the subsequent stages
of the application process due to the nationally valid data protection regulations.
3. Final Provisions
3.1. Submitting Your Personal Declaration
As soon as you click on the field "Yes, I have read the terms of use and the data protection policy and accept

If any provision of these terms of use or the data protection policy is held to be or becomes invalid, this shall not
affect the validity of the remaining provisions. Instead, the invalid provisions will be replaced with valid provisions
by way of a supplemental contract interpretation that come as close as possible to the recognizable economic
purpose that Schaeffler intended with the invalid provisions. The same applies to filling in any gaps in the
provisions.
