Immediate Funding Sources
■ Can be applied for throughout the school year by student organizations who need
funds for events that were not budgeted for
■ Contingency
■ Pepsi Fund (No funds remaining)
■ Diversity Matters (No funds remaining)
■ Intercollegiate Academic Fund (No funds remaining)
All applications are available on the NISG website
Budgetary Process
Every Spring semester, NISG holds a budgetary process where student organizations can
request funds for multiple events and/or large sums of money for their organization to use
throughout the upcoming year
■ Funds will not be available until July 1
NISG’s preference is that organizations apply for funds through the budgetary process
■ Helps with program longevity
■ Allows for funding convenience for student organizations
■ Access to more money!

Budget Hearings
Reasons for hearings
■ Gives student organizations an opportunity to provide supplemental information to
the committee
■ Allows the committee to ask any clarifying questions
Failure to attend a hearing will result in automatic denial of funding
15 minute time slot per organization
What is funded
Shortlist
■ Developmental and educational events
■ Programming that generally provides a service to the student body
■ Publicity for programs that are open to the entire student body
What is not funded
Shortlist
■ Recruitment
■ Food, drink, and other food related items
■ Organizations that receive funding from the Student Service Fee
■ Fundraisers in which requested funds will be directly donated
■ Activities directly related to job-seeking
■ Activities not open to the whole student body
Other Tips
■ There is no save button on the application so it’s best to complete the whole thing in
one sitting
■ The more information, the better
– The committee wants to see as many details as possible including date, time,
location, etc.
■ Follow last year’s funding guidelines in your request
Allocation announcements
■ Notifications of funding are emailed directly to student organization leaders
■ Allocation, deferment, and denial will all be explained
Deferral
■ Funding that generally meets our guidelines but cannot be allocated at this time
■ Can re-apply for the same amount through the contingency fund
