Goal Setting GRADE 12 SESSION 4 UNIT 1 Lesson Title: Respect for ALL Workers Time Required: 55-70 minutes Content Standards: Career Development C. Students will understand the relationship between personal qualities, education, training, and the world of work. Indicators: Students will analyze the education, training and personal characteristics needed to achieve current life career goals and compare those characteristics with one’s own characteristics. Students will identify personal contributions to a global society to be made as a result of one’s life career choices. X X X X Goal 1: Gather, analyze, and apply information and ideas. Goal 2: Communicate effectively within and beyond the classroom. Goal 3: Recognize and solve problems. Goal 4: Make decisions and act as responsible members of society. GOAL: Students will demonstrate empathy for the roles of various workers. Activity Statements: We’ve got to reduce the cost of producing _______! Which jobs can be eliminated? Hand out ”focus object”, e.g., pencil, healthy snack. The “object” will be used to engage students in the lesson (Note: If using a food item as “focus object” select something that supports the national emphasis on well-being via healthy in-school snack offerings.)
