If students have difficulty with the question, use the discussion questions attached to generate dialogue. Large group discussion: Reminding students that respect from others contributes to one’s ability to focus on growth and learning, have students generate examples of the ways in which they would want to be respected and ways they could demonstrate respect for others, their property, and the school. Prompt students thinking with the following situations: Respect for others: 1. How would you want to be respected in the hallways? Classroom? 2. How would you demonstrate respect for speakers or performers in class or at assembly? 3. How would you respond respectfully to being taunted at an athletic event? 4. How do you demonstrate respect to others in your classroom?
