Winning Attitude –Handout #1 GRADE 5 LESSON 28 Parable of the Two Wolves An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, “A fight is going on inside of me…it is an on-going, intense battle and it is between two wolves. “One wolf represents negativity, fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lying, false pride, superiority and ego. “The other wolf represents positivity, joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, generosity, empathy, truth, compassion, and faith. “This same fight is going on inside of you and inside every other human being, as well.” The children thought quietly for a moment, then one child asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” In order to “feed my positive wolf” at school I will need to ______________________________________________.
