INTEREST INVENTORY
GRADE 9 LESSON 18
Time Required: 30-45 minutes
Content Standards:
AA.S.4
Students will acquire the skills to investigate the world of
work in relation to knowledge of self and to make informed
career decisions.
Indicators (Students will…):
AA.C.9.4.02
Develop an awareness of personal abilities, skills, interests,
and motivations.
GOAL: Students will complete an interest inventory to determine which careers
best match their interests.
OPTION 1: If students have access to computers or personal devises…
1. Have students go to www.cfwv.com and complete the interest profiler and basic skills survey
and upload results to their online portfolio. If students have recently completed the cfwv
profiler, they can complete the interest inventory on
https://westvirginia.strategiccompass.com/.
2. Have students discuss the results of their survey with others in groups, asking them to team
with people who have different interests to learn about career options in each cluster area.
3. Students may then share what they learned with the entire advisory group if time permits.
