Historical Note
This collection contains three compendiums of essays from Althea Stoeckel's experimental history
laboratory courses focused on research of primary resources from Delaware County during the 19th
century. The topics covered in the essays focus strongly upon the less researched aspect of the county's
history such as child labor, African American experiences, and the Poor Relief efforts. The essays date
from 1969-1975.
