When planning to transfer, it is important to consult with the intended nursing college to find out application deadlines, prerequisite courses needed for transfer, and potential enrollment dates. Minimum cumulative GPA required for admission ranges between 2.5 and 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0) No grade lower than a C for required prerequisite courses will be accepted. These courses vary by college. Repeat coursework is limited. Consult your intended nursing college. Nurse Aide program certification is a perquisite for some nursing programs, and available at many community colleges. The program (75-80 hours) qualifies a person to work in nursing facilities and skilled nursing facilities.
