Administrative History
The provost and vice president for academic affairs is the chief academic officer of the university.
Reporting to the president, the provost is the second ranking executive officer of the University. The
office of the provost provides leadership and direction for the University's academic programs, and
oversees the associate and assistant provosts, and the deans of the academic schools and colleges.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes correspondence, reports, and other materials from the office of the provost of
Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana ranging from 1919 to 2007 regarding the offices, schools, and
colleges reporting to the provost, and other University matters.
