Responsible for the analysis and improvement of cancer education for underserved vulnerable minority groups participating in projects associated with the PA Cancer Prevention and Control Division supportive of Act 33, 12 and the PA Cancer Control Plan. This evaluation sought to understand the structure and functioning of the Cancer Education Network from a systems perspective, detailing and analyzing inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes. Data collection completed in June 2009 pertaining to prevention efforts across 16 State Department of Health contractors was analyzed to further identify cultural and ethnic differences from contextual influences that need to be accounted in future cancer education and outreach activities aimed at Hispanic populations. Evaluation of Riverside Prison Project, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (2008-2009 (PI, Villanueva). Served as evaluator of a sexuality education and lifeskills program designed for women and teenage girls housed at Philadelphia’s Riverside Correctional Facility. The project focused on outcomes assessment derived from a sixweek curriculum developed specifically for this population, and one-on-one social services and counseling. The project sought to enhance participants’ knowledge of basic anatomy, HIV prevention, and negotiation skills, 2) increase access to and utilization of critical behavioral health services, and 3) evaluate methods and outcomes of its activities and services.
