Dear NJHS Student and Family,
I hope that your summer has been full of fun and relaxation. I know for me it has been
very busy and therefore has gone very fast. Before we know it, we will be back here at
Valley Middle for another school year.
I wanted to send this letter out for a couple of reasons. First of all, if you have
completed service hours during the summer, the service form can be found on the
Valley Middle Website. Those forms can be handed in at the first meeting on
September 13th at 7:30 AM. Also, as members voted on in the spring, our mandatory
meetings will take place on the second Thursday of each month at 7:20 AM. Those
meeting dates are as follows:
* September 13th
* October 11th
* November 8th
* December 13th
* January 10th
* February 14th
* March 14th
* April 11th
* May 9th
If you are unable to attend one of the meetings please let me know ahead of time.
Attendance at these meetings is part of the commitment that you made to the
organization. Also, you are required to participate in the group service projects. Our
first group project will take place in November and we will discuss this at our upcoming
meetings.
If you are looking for service hours, Mrs. Buchwald has an opportunity for you to help
out at Back to School Day on Wednesday, August 22 nd selling VMS string backpacks.
The day runs from 11:00-7:00 and she is looking for a two hour commitment. Email me
at ryan.roseen@district196.org if you are interested and indicate the two hour time
frame that works best for you. I will then pass this information on to Mrs. Buchwald.
