The new format from the last few years and reasons: 1) changing times 2) Feedback
from present and past coaches in the league 3) Evaluation from Staff 4)Gas prices 5)
Busy schedules for parents and players 6)Create a more competitive league attracting
teams from throughout the Metro, outside the Metro, and out of state.
*****Consider the league as a tournament every week since the new format is creating an
interest from team’s hours away and from out of state. You will play your two games a
night once a week.
Most of the Varsity games will be played on Tuesday night But some games may be played on
Thursday night depending on the number of teams in the Varsity league.
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SITE CHANGE FOR THIS YEAR: Because of
maintenance on Eastview H.S. gym, games will be played at APPLE VALLEY HIGH
SCHOOL (2 miles down the road). It will be back at EVHS the next year! Also, the
league will still be run by EASTVIEW COACHES AND STAFF.
Varsity Playing Dates: June 16,23,30 July 7,21 Tuesday nights (Two games a night)
League Tournament: July 27,28
JV league Playing Dates: June 18,25 July 2,9,23 Thursday nights (Two games a night)
League Tournament: July 27,28
REMINDER: Because of GYM Conflicts, games will not be played on the
week of July 13-17. Rest and take a Break this week.
Eligibility: Players who will have basketball eligibility remaining in
8,9,10,11,12 in 09-10. Congratulations to Apple Valley as the League Champion 2008.
Varsity League: Maximum of 12 teams. We will only accept 12 teams.
JV League: Maximum of 12 teams. Again only accept 12 teams.
Please send one check for each team. Thanks and looking forward to another great summer
of basketball.
Fee: $850 per team. Check payable to Six Man Club.

2009 Fast Break Summer Team League Rules
1. Games are two-20 minute running time halves. The clock will stop for
timeouts and the final two minutes of the game. Overtime will be two
minutes of stop time.
2. Bonus free throws will be shot on the 7th team foul of each half.
3. Teams get three-30 second time outs per game and the clock stops
during timeouts.
4. Profanity or verbal abuse towards officials or other players is
unacceptable. Technical fouls for fighting will result in ejection from
the game and one or more game suspension from the league as
determined by league management.
5. Individual will foul out on the 5th team foul.
6. Adults from Eastview will be working the tables and the clock.
7. Each team will be responsible for entering their team in the game book.
8. A ten-minute grace period will be given to teams and at the end of the
grace period a forfeit will be given to team.
9. If You will not be able to attend game(s), let myself or Coach Gerber
know at least 3-4 days before games. You need to be in contact with
one of us ASAP! Penalized $80 per game without notification ahead of
time. We can be reached at the following #’s below! I would highly

Fast Break Summer Team League Informational Items
1. Each team will play two games each night. Games will be played on Tuesday
night for Varsity but some games may have to be played on Thursday night
Because of the number of teams. JV Teams will play on Thursday night.
2. Games will start promptly. Don’t be late. If you cannot field enough players on
a particular game or for a particular day, you must call me as soon as you know
this. There are teams traveling for over two hours to play in this league -- be
respectful to them. You will be penalized $80 per game if I do not receive prior
notice of your team being absent and the money will go to the opposing team.
3. Concessions stand will be available
4. We will have ice available for injuries ,but no trainer will be on site. Please
make sure we have your correct phone number in case of a serious injury.
5. The final week will be the playoffs and teams will be seated by record and
scores. The championship team and runner-up will be crowned. The
tournament will consist of a single elimination.
6. Each team will receive 10 Jerseys.
7. Each team will be responsible for sending me a roster of their team two months
before the league begins and what number (0-9), each player will receive for the
League Program. Also, Parent/Guardian will need to fill out permission form
for their son to participate.
8. We will not provide basketballs. The league will provide one game ball per
court.
9. Please notice the game times start at 6:00 on June 16th. Please arrive 30
minutes ahead of time the first day to receive uniforms.
10. It is extremely important that each team communicates with me or Coach
Gerber about fielding a team for each night. Let’s have no forfeits. It was a
great success last year and let’s have another fantastic year.

that participating in the Summer Basketball League program, including related games, practice and other
activities conducted on the premises of Apple Valley High School or elsewhere (program), is a potentially
hazardous activity and that my son/legal responsibility should not participate unless he is medically able

physical condition to participate in the Program, and that I am responsible for the decision whether to

Hold Harmless Participant Agreement
In consideration of the permission granted to me to participate in the Summer League (League), I hereby
acknowledge and agree that: (a) the League, (b) the League director, staff, referees, sponsors,
participating schools and their representatives (League Representatives), © Apple Valley High School,
and
(d) anyone acting on their behalves, shall have no responsibility and/or liability for any personal injury
that I may suffer, or damage relating to personal property that may arise, as a result of my participation in
the League. By signing this Agreement, I agree to release and hold harmless these parties from and
against any and all claims, suits or actions arising from any such personal injury or property damage
resulting from my participation in the League.
By signing this Agreement, I further represent to the League and the League Representatives that I am
