A list of known incidents in Home Base, by application, is available on the Home

The list is updated daily and includes responses underway and remedies for each
incident.

Online Training Materials Available for Home Base
A number of online training materials are available to help you become more
proficient in using Home Base. These include: creating lessons plans, locating
materials to support instruction, taking attendance, creating assessment items,
sharing assessments with gradebooks and accessing the Schoolnet training

Released Forms for Measures of Student Learning on the Web
Released forms for Measures of Student Learning are now available on the Educator
Effectiveness website at http://www.ncpublicschools.org/effectivenessmodel/measures/released-forms/. The released forms cover particular topics for grades 48 and high school mathematics, science, social studies, English language arts and the
Occupational Course of Study.
Nomination Packet for 2014 NC Governor’s School Online
The nomination packet for the 2014 session of the North Carolina Governor's School is
now available online at http://www.ncgovschool.org/nomination/. Nominations MAY
NOT be submitted electronically. Each completed nomination packet must be printed
and mailed. Nominations must be submitted by a student’s school system/school. Selfnominations are not allowed. A timeline for the application and notification process, as
well as the scheduled dates for the 2014 session can be found at
http://www.ncgovschool.org/calendar/. Do you have questions about a typical day at the

2013-14 Education Directory Now Online
The Education Directory for 2013-14 is available online at
http://www.ncpublicschools.org/nceddirectory/. In addition to the full version, the
directory also is available in three sections:
• Section 1- State Agency
• Section 2 – Association and Commissions
• Section 3 – Schools
Note: The NCDPI no longer prints or sells print copies of the directory.
Fall Tuition Awards Available for Special Education Teachers
Limited fall tuition awards are available for special education teachers working toward
meeting provisional license requirements. Under this tuition program, employed
bachelor-level special education teachers with a provisional license may receive the
actual cost of tuition for one approved fall course to cover up to $140 per semester hour
as long as they earn a final grade of "B" or higher. These costs are paid by the
Exceptional Children Division on a reimbursement basis. If the tuition is above the $140
per semester hour rate, it will be the responsibility of the recipient to pay the difference.
These awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis as long as federal grant funds
are available. Copies of this application packet are available to download at

Report on Education Legislation (From the 2013 Session of the General Assembly)
The "Report on Education Legislation from the 2013 Session of the North Carolina
General Assembly" includes summaries of all legislation affecting public education individual bills, special provisions of the budget, and the “money report.” It also includes
copies of individually passed bills and relevant portions of the budget. The book serves
as a reference for legislation that will be codified until revised editions of the statutes are
available. This report does not replace the "Public School Laws of North Carolina"
publication.
