Barton College Assistant Athletic Trainer position
Job Summary:
Barton College is accepting applications for Assistant Athletic Trainer, a full-time staff (9-month) position with an August 10th,
2015 start date. Barton College Athletics is a member of the Conference Carolinas and competes at the NCAA Division II
level.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and supervises the care of studentathletes competing in Barton College’s athletic program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention,
evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the College’s comprehensive sports medicine program.
Primary Responsibilities:
At a minimum, responsibilities include assisting in daily operation of the athletic training facility, provide coverage of practice
and games (including travel) of assigned sports and assistance with conflict coverage; provide daily treatment and
rehabilitation of athletic injuries; assists with annual pre-participation screenings; ensures proper use and maintenance of
equipment and facilities; follows all developed policies and procedures; work with members of the Athletic Training staff to
provide proper evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletically injured student-athletes and assist with referral to
associated health care professionals when necessary; maintains medical records on student-athletes to include physical
examinations and screenings, insurance information, and injury evaluation reports; assists with budget preparation and
managing inventory of supplies for the athletic training facility; communicates with coaches regarding injured student-athlete
participation; follows NATA Code of Ethics; remains current on all state and national requirements for license renewal; agrees
to comply with all regulatory agency statuses, by-laws and mandates; and performance of other duties as assigned by Head
Athletic Trainer.
Sport assignments to be determined upon the discretion of the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Athletics
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree Preferred

Certified by the Board of Certification

Have or be eligible for North Carolina Athletic Training licensure

Preference given to individuals with a minimum of 3 years of work experience as a certified athletic trainer

Job Posting- Certified Athletic Trainer
Description:
PT Northwest is currently seeking a dynamic Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team.
Duties:
This full time position will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to a local
high school and collegiate club sports programs as well as in one of our 8 physical therapy clinics. Duties will
include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation, referral and coordination of care when needed.
Strong communication skills are imperative to interact with parents, coaches, athletes, administrators, physicians and
other professionals.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic, flexible, an excellent communicator, compassionate, team oriented and
committed to excellence.

PT Northwest is a locally owned and operated physical therapy company specializing in outpatient rehabilitation
services. We have clinics located throughout the mid Willamette valley and have been serving this area for 30
years. We currently provide athletic training services in a variety of settings including the high school, university
and club sport setting.
Compensation:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or related, Current BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, Current CPR/AED
Certification, Valid driver’s license, State of Oregon Registered or eligible,
Preferred Qualification:
Masters degree, Sports performance experience, Advanced certification ( FMS, SFMA, KT Tape, Graston, etc.) 1-3
years previous experience in clinic/outreach or secondary school setting.
