The Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria, Illinois April 16, 2015 Job Opening – Special Events Coordinator RiverFront Events Division POSITION: Full-time REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor Degree in Parks/Recreation & Tourism, Business or related field. Minimum of two (2) years experience in facility scheduling, special event programming and implementation. Working knowledge of computers and general office procedures along with a thorough knowledge of facility promotion. Ability to work weekends, holidays and special events. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate employees and volunteers. Create an atmosphere of teamwork and positive energy among staff and volunteers. Ability to communicate with others clearly in person and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate special events. Must possess good customer service and organizational skills. Ability to work harmoniously with the public, Peoria Park District Personnel and City of Peoria Personnel. DUTIES: Work closely with community groups, agencies, and businesses to produce a specified number of community events per year. Provide logistics, on-site, pre and post event planning of special events. Planning, scheduling, promoting, and supervising the operation of the Riverfront Park & events. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, event partners, community organizations, Peoria Park District Personnel and City of Peoria Personnel. Supervision and scheduling of support staff. Budgeting, completing various reports, submitting payroll and monitoring financial performance of Riverfront events. Follow and support all aspects of the Park District’s safety program. All other duties assigned. OTHER: Salary: $30,000 per year.
