The Council met from 2:00 to 3:50 p.m. in the University Union Board Room.
The minutes of 9-29-05 were approved. Mietus announced that the Division of Student
Services will be interviewing candidates for the position of director of Disability Support
Services and a representative from CAGAS is invited to participate. Interviews will be held from 1:30 – 2:20 on Oct 26, 28, 31 and Nov 2.
The Faculty Senate has appointed Shawn Meagher to serve on CAGAS as a replacement for Karen Mann beginning Spring semester ’06.
Charles Gilbert and Teresa North met with the Council to discuss the analysis of admissions data requested by John Miller and Karen Mann. A general discussion ensued regarding the interpretation of these data and their implications for the role of the
CAGAS admissions sub-committee, the Admissions Office and the OAS program.
Mietus proposed that the discussion be continued as a first order of old business at the next scheduled CAGAS meeting.
The Council will meet again at 2:00 p.m. on October 13, 2005 in the University Union
Board Room.
