Problem(s)
Glitches happen frequently. PC does hang up often and
“moves like molasses.” Cashier’s software can be
extremely slow when posting payments. MS Word also
very slow when using. Needs a faster processor to keep
up with demands and time constraints. Web & SIS+
access takes longer than her co-workers (who have to
wait for her to catch up to them).
Memory is an issue and periodic freezing requires
rebooting. PC is slow and hinders getting work
accomplished. Combinations of software (such as, SIS,
Arnold, Outlook, Look, Netscape, etc.) are hard to use.
Needs more RAM.
This front reception office computer is slower than the
other office pcs. Sometimes freezes up--possibly due to
the software running on it and/or its old age.
PC has no more memory to use. Freezes up when
printing. Has to wait until printing is complete before
moving on. Some print jobs do not print until pc is in
shut down mode. PC takes 4.5 minutes to boot up and
shut down. Incurring frequent DOS OE exception errors
which requires time-consuming rebooting and scanning.
Because there is no memory, Outlook software cannot be
used. Would like newer operating system (currently
using WIN 95). Needs more space for MS ACCESS
applications. PC too slow to be efficient—especially
when working with software programs like Word or WP.
Would like an internal zip drive or R/W CD ROM for
backup purposes.
Freezes up enough times to be an annoyance. Would like
a pc with working speakers.
PC locks up sometimes. Unable to run multiple
programs simultaneously.
PC crashes more and more. Some projects are a bit
slower than others.
Each pc has only 32 MB of RAM. Extremely slow,
unreliable, and underpowered. Have difficulty running 3
or more programs. Can’t have SIS+, Arnold and
Netscape open if WordPerfect, Word, or Outlook needs
to be used. Systems shut down with fatal error
messages. Office 2000 barely runs. Takes a long time
for pcs to boot up. Work performance is hindered due to
sluggishness of these old pcs.
