Participants must be licensed through State of Wisconsin with either a Barber, Cosmetology, Manicurist,
Esthetician, Electrology practicioner license with at least 2,000 work experience or have a Barber or
Cosmetology manager's license to qualify to take this course. Certificate is awarded upon completion of
course. However, a certificate of training form is submitted to Department of Safety & Professional
Services upon completion of the courses. The completion of Barcos 333 and Barcos 334 (including 150
hours of course instruction) is needed to be awarded credit from MATC. Along with a valid State of
Wisconsin practicing or manager's license. A certificate of training form is submitted to Department of
Safety & Professional Services to take state board exam to become licensed as a Barber/Cosmetologist
Instructor.

The licensure/certification can only be obtained with an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Tech or a
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Tech. There are no other options. The licensure/certificate is an
Exam Board of Certification that is taken by the student. The only way a person is allowed to take the
Exam is completing the above degree requirements. American Society of Clinical Pathology is the one
who administers the Exam. They check the students transcripts for the above listed degree(s). If they do
not have the degree(s), they can not take the exam.
