1. Purpose. This Appendix is published to identify the integration of medical HNS into the theater medical
support structure and delineate existing medical HNS.
2. Limitations and Definitions
a. Korea medical assets are extremely limited throughout the JOA.
b. Plan for no HNS medical service support except for JTF Korea requirements covered in
current agreements.
c. Economic conditions in the ROK do not allow JTF health service support to rely on HNS.
3. Concept of Operations
a. Limited health care facilities are available at fixed hospitals in the cities. These facilities are to
be considered as only for emergency use.
b. These limited HNS facilities will be available upon execution of this OPLAN.
c. No Service Component medical requirements have been offset by HNS.
4. Tasks
a. Service Component Commanders will provide liaison officers to work with JTF Korean contract
management for HNS coordination.
b. Requests for medical HNS will describe the medical HNS desired and the medical HNS
available.
c. Telephonic coordination is encouraged with secure fax as backup.
5. Command and Control. Requests for medical HNS will be submitted to the JTF J4 OPS and the JTF
Korea Surgeon for coordination with Civil Affairs.

6. Coordinating Instructions
a. This Appendix is effective for planning upon receipt and for execution on order.
b. Direct liaison/coordination is authorized between senior JTF medical commanders and senior
HN medical personnel in their area of operations.
c. Medical intelligence shall to be reported to the CFC Surgeon and the JTF Korea Surgeon.
