To graph an absolute value function...
1. First identify the parent function (with vertex at origin).
2. Identify the slope, the horizontal translation, and the vertical translation of the graph.
3. Find and graph the new vertex (h, k) after the translations.
4. Use the slope to graph points on either side of the vertex.
5. Draw your graph.

Write an equation for each translation of
Graph these absolute value functions:
Use f(x)=a|x - h|+k
1. f(x)=|x+3|-2
2. f(x)=|x-1|+3
3. f(x)=-|x+1|+2
