For August admission Due Date: 5pm March 15 If the 15th is a Saturday or Sunday it is due the Friday before.
Applications and references postmarked by the deadline but received in the mail after the 5pm deadline will not be considered.
All prerequisite core* courses must be complete at the time of application: NO EXCEPTIONS
If you are currently taking or have yet to take any of the 9 courses listed below you are ineligible to apply. All general education courses must be
completed with a ‘C’ or better. **Transfer students: each required course must have been evaluated and show in the USCA system.

Required essay for all applicants
Type and attach a one page essay, double spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font, 1” margins expressing why you want to enter the
nursing profession. Type your name at the top and sign and date the bottom. Formal Written Communication Criteria: organization
(including unity, coherence, transitions, and clarity of purpose; Language and Style (clarity and effectiveness of vocabulary, diction,
syntax); Grammar and Mechanics (grammar, agreement, punctuation and spelling). Essay’s that do not meet this criteria will
invalidate the application (longer than one page, no name at the top, no signature and or date.

Upon acceptance to the BSN Generic Nursing Program a background check and drug screen will be required.
References: Two required using the USCA SON Reference form available online. Both references MUST be college level academic.
We will not accept references from family, friends, family friends, employers, coworkers, or advisors. References can be mailed,
submitted in sealed envelopes with the reference’s signature over the seal or faxed by the reference: 803-641-3725. References may
arrive prior to your application. Be sure to sign the reference form waiver. Application files missing one or both references or if
neither are college level professors, the application will be invalidated. The SON will not contact you if your file is missing a
reference.
