Our teachers hold major leadership positions in all of our key committees including our School Improvement Team, our RTI Committee, our Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Committee, and our PBIS Committee. In addition, our teacher leaders regularly provide in-house professional development to their colleagues on a variety of topics including implementing the Common Core, effective classroom management techniques, EC and ESL strategies, NC Teacher Evaluation, 21stt Century Skills, and technology integration. As I reflect on the willingness our of teachers to assume significant leadership opportunities in our school, I believe that our district encourages a leadership mindset through our Teacher Leadership Academy. This intensive training gives our teachers a formalized manner in which to learn valuable leadership skills and define themselves as leaders both to their colleagues and, perhaps most importantly, to themselves. ~ Brooke Zehmer, Assistant Principal—Lindley Park Elementary Enriching the Experience • The Announcement • Awards • Cohort members can return to be part of presentation teams Resource Examples • Katzenmeyer & Moller Moller, Awakening the Sleeping Giant (Main Text) • Kotter,, Our Iceburg g is Melting g • Capretta, Eichinger, Lombardo, & Swisher, FYI for Teams • Dufours, Eaker, & Many, Learning by Doing • Marzano, Classroom Instruction that Works • Jackson Jackson, How to Plan Rigorous Instruction Seeking Feedback Your Feedback • www.socrative.com – Room #724305 – Use your laptop, smartphone, or tablet Thank You!
