Assignment: Compare
In this assignment you will compare locations in Europe and North America.
1. Choose a place (a city, small region, or place of interest such as a national park) in
Europe that interests you. Do not select an entire country or river.
2. Find the latitude of your selected place.
3. Then find a place in North America at approximately the same latitude.
4. Complete Internet research to learn about the two places.
5. Create a chart comparing the two. Your chart should include information about:






climate and weather
vegetation (both native and agricultural)
population distributions
recreational opportunities and tourism
industrial and commercial opportunities
at least one unusual or unique fact or feature about each location
6. Now that you’ve complete research about each place, answer the following question:
You have won an all-expenses paid trip to one of these locations for a week. Explain in
detail which place you would prefer to go and why.
