Having read two versions of Pygmalion (The Roman version in Unit 2 and the George Bernard
Shaw version), now it’s your turn to rewrite this story.
1. Briefly describe the time period you will set your story in. (You may NOT use either time
period the original two were set in.) Remember, these stories are greatly influenced by
the times they are set in. The attitudes, values and culture define the metamorphosis
that will occur in your story so be sure that culture is clear to your audience.
2. Create a list and brief descriptions of your main characters.
3. Write your story. Spelling, grammar, word choice and other language arts elements are
a critical part of this assignment so use all the tools at your disposal, including proof
readers to check your story before submission.
