Do I need to bring an electronic
version of my paper? You may bring a
hard copy of your paper, or you may bring
an electronic version to print.

Questions
Can I drop off a paper at the WR for
consultants to proof for me? No. Allow
time to sit down and have a conversation
about your paper with the consultant. The
consultants do not do the work for you.
Who comes to the WR? Students from
all kinds of courses working on all kinds
of projects.
How do I make an appointment?
Come by the WR in HSS 112 or call 6413262.
Do I have to make an
appointment? No, you may drop-in for
WR assistance. However, an appointment guarantees your session.
What do I bring to my WR
session? The assignment sheet, course
syllabus, notes, pre-writing, drafts, or
any other document pertaining to the
class or to the specific project you are
working on.
What happens during a WR
session? You and the WR consultant will
sit at a table and discuss your concerns.
Together, you will go through these concerns, and the WR consultant will guide
you through the writing process and help
you realize how to address your concerns.
Can I fax or e-mail a paper to the WR?
No. It is best to come in person with your
paper.
When is the WR open? Monday—
Thursday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday
9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Where is the WR located? H&SS Building,
room 112
Will my professor know I visited the
WR? The professor will know about your
visit only with your consent.
What happens if a WR consultant finds
that I have plagiarized? Consultants are
trained to recognize plagiarism, help you
avoid it, and provide other tips for using
sources.
What other resources are available in
the WR? You may come to the WR to
study, use a computer, print, or peruse
books and guides related to writing.
How do I submit my WPP at the WR?
When you are ready to submit your WPP,
simply bring it in to a WR consultant at
any time prior to the deadline. The consultant will perform a final check of your
WPP contents, stamp the WPP as
“Received,” and file the portfolio.
Can the WR help me with my WPP?
Yes! Feel free to make appointments to
discuss papers in your WPP.
