SSB 2015-34 A Bill for: Sponsored by: Panther E-Sports Organization and Finance Committee First Reading: October 15 2014 Vote: 19-0-0 Presidential Action: ____________________________________________________________ Kevin Gartman – President Date WHEREAS: Panther E-Sports is requesting registration; and WHEREAS: They estimate around 30 active members, but are in contact with more than 50; and WHEREAS: This has been a regularly meeting club since August 2013 and is open to all students; and WHEREAS: This group competitively plays various internet games, such as League of Legends and Call of Duty; and WHEREAS: They compete in national competitions and hope to compete against University of Iowa and Iowa State University, who are among the 400 plus college campuses with registered gaming clubs; and WHEREAS: They are dedicated to providing hands-on experience and providing mentorship, as many group members are at various levels of competitiveness; and RECOGNIZING: They have goals of changing negative stigmas surrounding video gamers and promoting a welcoming community; and BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED :That Panther E-Sports is granted registration by the Northern Iowa Student Government.
