WHEREAS: Gloria Gibson, Executive Vice President and Provost of the University of Northern
Iowa, is stepping down from her position; and
RECOGNIZING: That Provost Gibson has served with distinction for the past five years; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Provost Gibson has displayed her commitment to UNI by
working to establish strong lines of communication with underrepresented groups such as BSU,
BBLU and HLSU; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Provost Gibson is truly dedicated to minority group’s success
on campus, which can be seen in her work overseeing NCBI, as well as her work with international
student programs; and
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED: That the Northern Iowa Student Government offers its thanks
to Provost Gibson for her outstanding service to the student community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this resolution shall be sent to President Rudd; Gloria
Gibson, Executive Vice President and Provost; Terrence Hogan, the Vice President for Student
Affairs; the Northern Iowan and any other media outlet or person deemed relevant by the Speaker
of the Senate.
