Her recent focus has been educating nurses and other health professionals. Liz was awarded a CBE in the 2009 Queen’s birthday honours list for her services to healthcare and nursing. Patient /Public Rep Trevor Begg Trevor Begg is a former Patient Representative on the North West London PCT Cluster Board and Chair of Hillingdon LINk. He was recently appointed the Lay Governing Body Member of Hillingdon CCG and is currently working with the London Clinical Senate and NWL CLAHRC on patient and public involvement and service innovation and improvement. Patient /Public Rep Priscilla Chandro Priscilla Chandro is a Patient Representative on the National Clinical Reference Group for Cardiac Specialised Services. She has recently been elected as a public governor with the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. Patient /Public Rep Jacqueline Joyce Jacqueline Joyce has worked as a volunteer and committee member of national patient charity WLSinfo since 2005. She is a PPE Representative on the Obesity Clinical Reference Group, the RCP's Health & Weight Group, and the Paediatric Obesity working Group. Patient /Public Rep Georgina McMasters Georgina joined the Patient Group of the Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital Foundation Trust in 2007. Georgina has been involved in many hospital inspections and has written and presented “secret shopper” reports for hospital management. She was a Lay Member of the Clinical Commissioning Group Visits/Assessments project in 2012. Patient /Public Rep Christine Pollard Christine has been a journalist and broadcaster all her working life with a particular interest in health care and consumer matters. She runs broadcasting advice phone-ins on the intricacies of qualification for NHS Continuing Care and is an Ambassador for the Patients’ Association. Junior Doctor Dr Na’eem Ahmed Dr Na’eem Ahmed graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and completed academic foundation training at King's College Hospital. He is currently Clinical Fellow at NHS England. Doctor Mr Aidan Fowler Aidan Fowler is a General Surgeon working mainly with colorectal surgery cases and Chief of Service for the Surgical Division at the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Fowler has been trained as an improvement adviser by the IHI in Boston, and has worked for the last three years as improvement adviser to the South West Patient Safety Collaborative. Doctor Dr Vaughan Pearce Dr Vaughan Pearce has been a Consultant Physician in Geriatric and General Medicine in Exeter for 33 years. He was Medical Director in the Community Trust from 1997 until 2000 and in the Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust from 2003 to 2011. His main interest is Parkinson's Disease and Dystonia. Doctor Dr Jasmeet Soar Dr Jasmeet Soar is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at North Bristol NHS Trust. His clinical work includes care of the deteriorating patient, and anaesthesia for major cancer surgery. He is a faculty member for the South West Quality and Patient Safety Improvement Programme, immediate past Chair of the Resuscitation Council (UK), and an editor of the journal ‘Resuscitation’. Student Nurse Rebecca Dodd Rebecca Dodd is a student nurse in the last year of her degree at Bournemouth University. Prior to university, Rebecca volunteered on elderly care wards at Poole Hospital. Nurse Julia Hogg Julia is Matron for Acute Medicine at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and has worked at the NHS since 1986. Julia’s previous experiences have mainly been in Intensive care and Surgical and Medical Nursing and she later specialised in Cardiology. Nurse Liz Childs Liz Childs was until recently Director of Nursing at South Devon Healthcare Foundation Trust, a post she held for 13 years. Her key areas of expertise are faculty lead for patient safety, patient experience and board governance. She is presently employed as a Non Executive Director at Devon Partnership NHS Trust and Faculty Lead on the South West Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Programme. Trust SM Chris Gordon Chris Gordon is Programme Director at the NHS Leadership Academy, supporting hospital trust development. He is also a Consultant Physician in Winchester specialising in Parkinson’s Disease. He was recently a Trust Chief Executive. CQC Kate Dew Kate is a Compliance Inspector for the Care Quality Commission, working in the Hampshire area. She previously worked for the Healthcare Commission and the Audit Commission.
