Patient/Public Representative David Turner David Turner has spent the last 21 years working as a barrister specialising in insurance law. He is also a patient & public Engagement representative on the National Clinical Reference Group for Cystic Fibrosis. Patient/Public Representative Neeta Mehta Neeta Mehta has been a patients’ champion for over 20 years, volunteering as a lay person in health services, her local authority and in the area of special needs education. For the past two years Neeta has been a member of the Patients and Public Engagement Steering Group for Specialised Commissioning. Currently, Neeta is also a member of the interim Clinical Priority Advisory Group. Patient/Public Representative Tim Thorp Tim Thorp is a lay representative and a retired research scientist from the Ministry of Defence laboratories. For several years he has volunteered for the NHS West Midlands as a lay representative in the overseeing of the training of doctors. Patient/Public Representative Priscilla Chandro Priscilla Chandro is a patient representative on the National Clinical Reference Group for Cardiac Specialised Services. She has recently been elected as a public governor with the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. Patient/Public Representative Derek Prentice Derek Prentice has spent his career in consumerism and has been a member of the board of a number of teaching hospitals. He is currently a member of the lay advisory group for the College of Emergency Medicine and a lay member of the General Dental Council. Doctor Vaughan Pearce Dr Vaughan Pearce has been a consultant physician in geriatric and general medicine in Exeter for 33 years. He was Medical Director in the community trust from 1997 until 2000 and in the Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust from 2003 to 2011. His main interest is Parkinson's Disease and Dystonia. Doctor Carol Peden Carol Peden is a doctor on the Rapid Responsive Review Panel. Doctor Simon Donell Professor Simon Donell is an honorary professor at the University of East Anglia, and President of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee. He has over 32 years of clinical experience and works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Doctor Aidan Fowler Dr Aidan Fowler is a general surgeon working mainly with colorectal surgery cases and Chief of Service for the Surgical Division at the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Fowler has been trained as an improvement adviser by the IHI in Boston, and has worked for the last three years as improvement adviser to the South West Patient Safety Collaborative. Junior Doctor Nina Wilson Nina Wilson is Junior Specialist Registrar (ST3) with 4 years' experience of delivering medical care in a variety of hospital and community training posts. She has also spent the last year working at a national level with NHS England. Senior Nurse Judy Gillow Judy Gillow is currently Director of Nursing & Organisational Development at University Hospital Southampton. She has over 30 years experience in the NHS covering a wide range of clinical, research, education and management roles. Board Level Nurse Nicola Lucey Nicky Lucey is Deputy Director of Nursing at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and has over 26 years of nursing experience covering a wide range of specialities, including cardiothoracic and intensive care, across different NHS organisations. In addition to nursing, Nicky has worked in service improvement and management positions in the past. Student Nurse Lowri Aldworth Lowri Aldworth is a pre-registration nursing student currently completing a masters’ qualification in Mental Health Nursing at Oxford Brookes University. Prior to this, Lowri completed a BA in English Literature and Psychology. Trust Senior Manager Chris Gordon Chris Gordon is Programme Director at the NHS Leadership Academy, supporting hospital trust development. He is also a consultant physician in Winchester specialising in Parkinson’s Disease. He was recently a trust chief executive. Trust Senior Manager Linda Abolins Linda Abolins is Deputy Director of Governance at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and works closely with the medical director on quality risk and safety. Linda is an experienced nurse and midwife, and spent seven years as Head of Midwifery before joining the corporate team four years ago. CQC Representative Jessica Zeff Jessica is a CQC Representative on the Rapid Responsive Review Panel. Senior Regional Support Christina Button Christina is Improvement and Support Programme Manager at the NHS England. Senior Regional Support Harriet Luximon Harriet Luximon is Improvement and Support Manager for NHS England South. She started this post in April 2013. Before that she worked for the Department of Health for 12 years on programmes such as 18 Weeks, Quality Framework and QIPP. She started her career in general management in acute hospitals.
