Social Studies Unit 7 Assessment/Test : Think-Tac-Toe
Each of the following will be worth 40 points: Choose 1 project from A, B, and C.

Mobile Create a hanging
mobile with at least 5 events
that led to the United States
joining WWI and 5 world
events that led to WWI.
Include an illustration along
with a brief explanation of
how it led to U.S. joining
the war. You may create
your own drawings, use the
internet, or any other
pictures you may find.
PLEASE have the 10 events
pre-approved before you
begin the mobile.
Brochure Using at least 20
vocabulary words and/or
people found in Unit 7,
create a brochure about
modern America emerging
as a world power during this
time period. All vocabulary
words must be underlined.
Original drawings or
computerized pictures can
be used.
3 panel brochure
Newscast Create a 5 minute
newscast to be reported on
in front of the class or video
about the following:
 one amendment that
was passed

OR
Spanish-American
War. Report from
both sides. As a
journalist, you
should remain
Fairy Tale Write a detailed fairy
tale (includes a hero usually with
magical powers, a villain, and
someone to be rescued) telling
about at least
10 events leading to the suffrage
movement up to the Nineteenth
Amendment. Each event in the
story should be in chronological
order and explain the cause and
effect. Must be typed!
(12 pt./double-spaced/min. of 1
page in length)
Flash Cards Create flash cards
for at least 20 people and/or
vocabulary words in Unit 7. The
vocabulary words should be on
one side and the definition with a
picture should be on the other
side.
Original drawings or
computerized pictures should be
in some form of color.
Cards in PEN and neat!
Comic Strip Create a colorful,
political comic strip, showing at
least the following:
 the annexation of Hawaii
or acquisition of Alaska
OR
 Conservation/National
parks movement
Minimum of 3 cells
Time Line Create an
illustrated time line of
major events of the
Presidencies from
Roosevelt to Wilson. This
project must include at
least 10 events with an
explanation of their
importance. Original
drawings should be created
for each event. Each event
should be in chronological
order and labeled with the
event, cause, and effect.
(Use the timeline program)
Picture Dictionary Using
at least 20 vocabulary
words and/or people in
Unit 7, create a picture
dictionary. Pictures should
have a minimum of 5
original drawings. Should
be in some form of color.
Remember, dictionaries are
in alphabetical order.
Poster On a piece of poster
board, display in pictures and
words, the main ideas of the
following:
 The Progressive ideas
of Roosevelt
OR
 The Progressive ideas
of Taft
OR
 The Progressive ideas
of Wilson
*Minimum of 3 topics,
pictures should be large
neutral.
