The Redshift Music Society was founded in 2001 in Vancouver, with a focus on bringing the
music of contemporary Canadian composers to the general public. We run a new music
organization which presents 3-6 performances per year as well as a successful record label
which is comprised of work by some of the most exciting and important artists working in
contemporary music today. Releases on the Redshift label have consistently been
nominated by the Western Canadian Music Awards and recently won Classical Recording
of the Year in 2014.

Description:
Our communications coordinator will be responsible for many aspects of the online
presence of our new music organization's website www.redshiftmusic.ca and our CD label
‘Redshift Records’ www.redshiftrecords.org.
This will involve:
- uploading and maintaining audio and video files to soundcloud, facebook, youtube,
vimeo, etc.
- creating (with our admin.) and updating a new Wordpress website
- researching the internet for CD reviewers and radio stations
- assisting in mailouts of new releases
- assisting in CD Release activities
- other activities TBD that might fit the interest of the particular intern
Qualifications:
- hardworking, willing to work unsupervised for periods at a time
- very good computer/internet skills
- must have own computer (laptop is preferred for one to one meetings, but not necessary)
