Several departments, COMING faculty SOON members, and READ MORE students regularly design visual representations FEATURED COURSE of data and information, and conduct research Visualization by John Nelson COMING define best SOON READ MORE FEATURED PROJECT intended to Starting on September 4th, the University of practices in Miami will host Places & Spaces: Mapping information Science, an exhibit of 100 visualizations design, GIS, intended to “inspire cross­disciplinary discussion on how to best track and communicate human activity and scientific progress on a global scale.” This unique and innovative exhibit is brought to UM by the Center for Computational Science, news infographics, etc. Learn about their activities and projects with us. the College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Communication. Half of the 100 COMING EVENTS SOON visualizations will be displayed at the Stanley READ MORE and Jewell Glasgow Hall on the first floor of the June 2014 M TW T F S S School of Architecture. The other half, and all the 3D and interactive elements, will be on the first and second floors of the Richter Library. Other temporary displays and events will be held all over campus, including at the Cox Science Building and the Lowe Art Museum.
