Instructional Coach*
This program addresses how the Teacher Leader Compensation
Grant opportunities are changing the dynamics of schools in
Iowa. It has been designed in response to the needs of schools
to support teacher leader roles, such as instructional coaches.
*Certificate designation is pending approval.

UNI has a long, distinguished history of providing professional
development opportunities for teachers. Beginning in 1913, the university
established study centers to serve the educational needs of teachers
statewide — the first initiative of its kind in the country. To this day, the
steadfast commitment to provide innovative and accessible professional
development opportunities for teachers remains a core component of
our mission.
Program features

•• Courses are designed using the Quality Matters set of professional
standards based upon research, best practices and national standards
for course design
Flexible learning for a busy life
Courses in this program will be offered via Adobe Connect, a desktop
video conferencing system, on Wednesday nights from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Courses will be supported online via eLearning, a Blackboard learning
management system. While most students encounter very few technical
difficulties with our online courses, our team of support specialists is
available to assist you as needed.

program an affordable investment for
advancing your career and increasing
your earning power. Tuition for 2015-16
is $448 per unit of graduate credit, plus
a technology fee of $36.25 per course.
Tuition and fees are expected to rise
each May, as determined by the Iowa
Board of Regents.
