New cohort program to begin Fall 2015 certificate Instructional Coach* This program addresses how the Teacher Leader Compensation Grant opportunities are changing the dynamics of schools in Iowa. It has been designed in response to the needs of schools to support teacher leader roles, such as instructional coaches. *Certificate designation is pending approval. distance.uni.edu/inst-coach UNI has a long, distinguished history of providing professional development opportunities for teachers. Beginning in 1913, the university established study centers to serve the educational needs of teachers statewide — the first initiative of its kind in the country. To this day, the steadfast commitment to provide innovative and accessible professional development opportunities for teachers remains a core component of our mission.
