"LongLifeSwitching" Technology
Is switching in the data center risky?
No, switching functions protect your service and increase availability!
1. Disconnected, unused outlets prevent unintentional overloading.
2. Selective emergency shutdown saves your business in the worst-case scenario
3. Almost powerless switching protects your data center equipment.
Are the points listed above important to you? Then please read on...
If so, then you should be using the MPH2™ Rack PDU (Power Distribution Unit) with its unique
"LongLifeSwitching" technology to prevent failure of your power supply.
What does "LongLifeSwitching" mean exactly?
"Bi-stable relays" with high-quality switching contacts ensure the basic supply of power
even in the event of disturbances elsewhere.
"Bi-stable relays" do not use power when they are in an ON or OFF state and can therefore
achieve energy savings of up to 75 %.
Powerless, zero-crossing switching protects the relay contacts, failures are avoided,
and the life cycle of the data center equipment (servers, PDUs, etc.) is extended.
In the event of a power failure, the outlets are automatically set to "OFF". This prevents
high inrush currents when the power supply is resumed. Circuit breakers – upstream or
in the PDU – are not tripped.
Furthermore, it also offers you additional functions in combination
with the switching function:
When a pre-set, adjustable threshold value is exceeded, pre-defined outlets are switched
off. This leaves more power for the critical power consumers in the data center. As a result,
critical IT services "survive" the worst-case scenario.
Temperature sensors can be configured in such a way that pre-defined outlets switch off
automatically at high temperatures.
The switching status can be freely configured for each outlet in the event of a power failure
(ON, OFF, "as before").
