MACRAO AGREEMENT GUIDESHEET (Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) The MACRAO Transfer Agreement is designed to facilitate transfer from Michigan community colleges to Michigan baccalaureate colleges and universities. It provides transferability of up to 30 semester credits to meet many (and in some cases all) of the General Education Requirements at participating four-year colleges and universities. Student may complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement as part of an associate degree or as a stand-alone package. Once the specified set of courses is completed they can be applied toward meeting the general education requirements at the 4-year institution. While many Michigan colleges and universities honor the MACRAO Transfer Agreement, some participate in a more limited manner. It is the student’s responsibility to check with the receiving institution regarding their transfer policies concerning exceptions to the agreement and transferability of specific courses and minimum grade required. Students are referred to the four-year institution and the MACRAO website at http://www.macrao.org. When coursework requirements for meeting the MACRAO Transfer Agreement have been completed at MCC, the student may request that their transcript say “MACRAO Transfer Agreement Satisfied” by submitting an Application for Graduation at the MCC Welcome Center. Muskegon Community College requires a minimum of 6 credits be taken at MCC to grant the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. The MACRAO Transfer Agreement is not considered a degree or certificate program at MCC. Therefore, if this is the only program a student has declared he/she will be ineligible for financial aid. Students are strongly recommended to meet with an MCC counselor. Appointments may be made by going to Room 101 or by phone at (231) 777-0362. The following courses may be taken at Muskegon Community College to fulfill the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. MINIMUM CREDIT HRS.
