Understanding by JD Students Studying Overseas re:
Grade Conversions for “C or above” grades specific to each Exchange Site
By my signature below I indicate my understanding, and acceptance, of the UNC
School of Law Policy which stipulates that the GPA criteria of a “C or above” grade
(the equivalent of which will be determined by UNC in conjunction with the
Exchange University) is to be met for all study abroad/international exchange courses
for the awarding of UNC credit hours.
In addition, the conversion of ECTS credits to UNC School of Law credit hours is
one half (i.e., 14 ECTS = 7 credit hrs, 10 ECTS = 5 hrs). We do not award .5 credits.
I understand that the specific Exchange University-designated grade cutoffs
(equivalent to a grade of “C or above”) for the program under which I am
studying need to be met for the subsequent awarding of Pass (PS) credits by
UNC School of Law towards the JD degree.
