After logging in to your WebAssign account you will be presented with a selection of problems
from the textbook for you to work on. The answers may then be submitted and will be
immediately graded.
WebAssign is now integrated into Blackboard, so there is no separate sign-on for WebAssign.
Once you have selected MATH 267 Section-P (Fall 2015) in Blackboard, just look for the link Go
to my WebAssign account in the left hand navigation bar
You get an access code for WebAssign when you purchase the textbook at the bookstore. You
must enter that code within 2 weeks to continue using it.
It is also possible to buy the access code directly on the WebAssign site, without the textbook.
Access to an e-version of the textbook comes with WebAssign.
For every WebAssign assignment there are three associated dates:
o Available Date (when assignment is first visible to you)
o Due Date (usually one week after available date)
o View Until Date(end of semester)
WebAssign allows you to send the instructor a request for an extension of the due date.
WebAssign does not ask you to show your work, so normally partial credit is not available, but
WebAssign allows up to 5 tries for each problem, no penalty for wrong answers.
WebAssign cannot display complete solutions to problems, only answers to them.
WebAssign is very good, but not perfect, in recognizing equivalent forms of correct answers.
Check with instructor or your TA if you think it is rejecting a correct answer (or accepting an
incorrect one!)
WebAssign contains a variety of resources to help you with the use of the software itself, such
as a built in Help System and a Customer Support telephone number. They cannot help with the
mathematical content or issues with actual grading decisions.
On the first day of class, help with getting started with WebAssign will be available from a
publisher’s representative in 385 Carver most of the day.
You can communicate with me directly through WebAssign, but normal e-mail will be more
reliable.
The very first assignment walks you through the basics of entering answers to mathematics
problems in WebAssign. Do it right away!
