Writing Skill Assessment

I have learned a lot during this semester. In order to summaries my writing skill, I will
read my first assessment, and then try to find out if I learn something new in this
semester. This paper will focus on my improvements and weakness. Also, I will check if
I meet the goal, which is set up at the beginning of the semester.
Review of previous assessment
In my first assessment, I point out three strengths and three weaknesses. In strengths
section, I said that my skill in scenery describing is relatively higher because I can use
Rhetoric practices to describe the scenery. Also, I mention that I can show people’s mind by
using dialogues and describing body actions of characters. Besides the two strengths, I said
that develop the further meaning of article is the third strengths.
In weakness section, I also showed three aspects. First one is I can not find out the opinion
when writing arguments, then is the problems in organizing passages. The third weakness is
grammar mistake and fluency of sentences
Current strengths
After studying, my writing skill improves a lot. First of all, organization of my article looks
better than before. I have learned to put segues in different paragraph to connect the whole
passage. Also, I know how to write a complete introduction and conclusion.
Thirdly, I know how to find out main opinions for arguments. Also, I have learned that how
to find out appropriate evidence to support my opinion.
Current weakness
Though my grammar improves a little bit, it is still my weakness. In most of my article, the
sentences are redundant. Also, vocabulary is another problem for me.
The second weakness is style of the passages. Sometimes I do know where to put the image
and how to arrange the order of the paragraph.
Progress toward goals
In think I have met most of my goal this semester. I have learned the basic rules of writing
an argument and find out evidences to support my views. Then, I know how to connect each
paragraph to make my paper more fluent.
Conclusion
In general, my writing skill is better than last semester. This semester I have learned how to
write arguments, how develop personal idea and how to connect different sections. Also, I
typically meet my goal, which I have set up at the beginning of the semester.
