Welding Training Program Certificate This 8—15 (may vary) week entry-level Welding Training Program is funded through the Department of Labor TAACCCT Grant. You will learn applicable manufacturing safety skills, welding blueprint reading and mathematics. In the gas metal arc core (GMAC) course, you will learn how to make weldments using GMAC and flux core welding processes. In addition, you will take academic support math to help you raise your mathematics skills so you can successfully complete this training program and receive college credits and a Welding Training Program Certificate. Curriculum MATHPH 771 - Academic Support Math WELD 360 – Welding Blueprint Reading WELD 315—Gas Metal Arc Core Welding WELD 380— Welding Math American Welding Society Certificate 7.5 Credits Welding Description: Welders use various types of welding equipment to do flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welds. Skilled welders generally plan work from drawings or specifications using their knowledge of fluxes and base metals to analyze the parts to be joined. These workers then select and set up welding equipment, execute the planned welds, and examine welds to ensure that they meet standards and specifications.
