Welding Training Program Certificate
This 8—15 (may vary) week entry-level Welding Training Program is funded through the
Department of Labor TAACCCT Grant.
You will learn applicable manufacturing safety skills,
welding blueprint reading and mathematics. In the gas metal arc core (GMAC) course, you will
learn how to make weldments using GMAC and flux core welding processes. In addition, you will
take academic support math to help you raise your mathematics skills so you can successfully complete this training program and receive college credits and a Welding Training Program Certificate.
Curriculum
 MATHPH 771 - Academic Support Math
 WELD 360 – Welding Blueprint Reading
 WELD 315—Gas Metal Arc Core Welding
 WELD 380— Welding Math
 American Welding Society Certificate
7.5 Credits
Welding Description:
Welders use various types of welding equipment to do flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welds. Skilled
welders generally plan work from drawings or specifications using their knowledge of fluxes and base metals
to analyze the parts to be joined. These workers then select and set up welding equipment, execute the
planned welds, and examine welds to ensure that they meet standards and specifications.
