AIDS is what develops as a longterm result of being infected with HIV. The continual weakening of the immune system of an HIV positive person causes them signs, symptoms, infections and cancers. CI AL HIV is found in 4 fluids: blood, vaginal fluid, semen and breast milk. HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. HIV is what someone gets infected with. HIV infects immune system cells, impairing their function or destroying them. When this happens, it is harder for the body to fight off infections, especially those that a normal immune system can defeat.
