Improving Communications & Working Relations with Staff This 4 hour course focuses on a practical understanding of social style awareness for supervision and management personnel to improve communication and interaction skills that can reduce conflict and improve working relationships within an organization. Course Topics include: Understanding Social Styles Students learn how social styles develop and why people interact and approach their jobs in a variety of ways that can be attributed to individual characteristics and life experiences. Understanding Behavioral Dimensions Students gain an understanding of the three core dimensions that form a style and determines how people act and respond around others. Basic Style Groups Students learn how to apply behavioral characteristics to identify not only their style but the styles of their staff and others within an organization. The key is when we can better understand people our skills for interaction and communication will improve as well. Versatility & Adaptive Behaviors Students will gain an understanding and learn how to be more versatile and adaptive with their individual style compared to other staff’s styles and how to use a “Flex Plan” to create better working relationships. Strengths & Weaknesses of Styles Students learn why their personal style strengths can become weaknesses that create conflict and miscommunication with others. Identifying Stress through Styles Students learn how to identify when people are under extremely high stress based on their style behaviors and considerations for intervention. Students work through several practical exercises and discussions to better understand how to use social styles in the workplace.
