ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Drexel’s BS in Environmental Science degree has
undergone exciting renovations as a result of the
2011 merger of Drexel University with the Academy
of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. The new
curriculum capitalizes on the strengths of Drexel and
Academy researchers, offering students a hands-on,
research-rich experience that will prepare them for
careers or graduate school in the environmental
sciences.

and students majoring in Environmental Science gain this experience during their orientation to
Drexel, as an integral part of the curriculum, and through co-op work experiences.
The Environmental Science curriculum allows students to pursue a concentration of interest
while receiving an overall breadth of knowledge from the core courses in the discipline. The
following four concentrations are available: Biodiversity and Evolution, Earth Science, Ecology
& Conservation, and Environmental Science.
