CO-OP & CAREER GUIDES ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Drexel’s BS in Environmental Science degree has undergone exciting renovations as a result of the 2011 merger of Drexel University with the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. The new curriculum capitalizes on the strengths of Drexel and Academy researchers, offering students a hands-on, research-rich experience that will prepare them for careers or graduate school in the environmental sciences. Philadelphia Zoo State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection The philosophy of the Department of Biodiversity, Earth & Environmental Science (the BEES department) is “Field Experience, Early and Often,” and students majoring in Environmental Science gain this experience during their orientation to Drexel, as an integral part of the curriculum, and through co-op work experiences. The Environmental Science curriculum allows students to pursue a concentration of interest while receiving an overall breadth of knowledge from the core courses in the discipline. The following four concentrations are available: Biodiversity and Evolution, Earth Science, Ecology & Conservation, and Environmental Science. .
