Des Moines Business Record, IA 08-30-07 Pappajohn business plan contest announces finalists The John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition announced three finalists today that will compete in October for cash prizes totaling $50,000. Two Ames software companies, Ensoft Corp. and EndoMetric, were chosen, along with TMT Manufacturing Co. Inc. of Davenport. Representatives of the three companies will present summaries of their business plans during the Iowa Venture Capital and Entrepreneur Conference on Wednesday, Oct. 10 in Des Moines. The winner will receive a check for $25,000, while the first runner-up will receive $15,000 and the second runner-up $10,000. Founded in 2002, Ensoft started with Knowledge-Centric Software tools technology research done at Iowa State University. Its customers include major aerospace and avionics companies. EndoMetric has created video analysis software systems that analyze the quality of medical endoscopy procedures. The services provided to customers will include technical support of software systems and training, upgrade and maintenance. TMT Manufacturing is involved with the oil industry, pipe-handling equipment production and manufacturing of shallow-drive aluminum watercraft. More than 70 entries were received for the contest, which is in its second year.
