KCCI.com, IA 04-03-07 Volunteer Teams Continue Search For Missing ISU Student Case Turned Over To National Crime Center DES MOINES, Iowa -- Law enforcement officials and volunteers are continuing their search for an Iowa State University student who has been missing since last weekend. ISU sophomore Abel Bolanos, 19, has been missing since early Saturday morning. Bolanos' sister, Marivelle, said Monday at a news conference that her family is concerned about her brother. "This is not like Abel," Belanos said. "He's not been in touch with us. He's funny. He was excited about his school year and was almost done. He wouldn't have done this on his own." Authorities learned Monday night that a credit card and debit card belonging to Bolanos were dropped off at an Ames bank prior to 10:30 a.m. Monday. The bank did not get the name of the person who dropped off the cards. Teams of volunteers are helping trained searchers from the STAR 1 team, Civil Air Patrol and local law enforcement officials. Groups of 60 volunteers are helping searchers in three shifts and students involved in ROTC, ISU's student government, and fraternities and sororities signed up to help Tuesday morning. More volunteers are needed for the 1 and 5 p.m. shifts and possibly in the coming days, a news release said. People who want to help in the search can call ISU's Student Activities Center at 515-294-8081 to sign up. Details about Bolanos' disappearance were given to the National Crime Information Center, the release said. Anyone with information about Bolanos' whereabouts can call 515-294-4428.
