KCCI.com, IA 09-13-06 Wait Continues For Iowa's Quarterback Both Teams Are 2-0 IOWA CITY, Iowa -- It's still wait and see for the University of Iowa's quarterback Drew Tate. Tate sat out last week's game against Syracuse University with an abdominal strain. He has been medically cleared to play against Iowa State University, but not by coach Kirk Ferentz -- and he's the one that counts. The 16th-ranked Hawkeyes have their last day of practice for the week Thursday. Ferentz said he hopes that Tate will play. He said he will base his decision on what he sees, or doesn't see, at practice. Tate was also medically cleared to play against Syracuse, but Ferentz said no. Iowa and Iowa State are both 2-0. Kickoff for Saturday's game is at 11 a.m. at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Copyright 2006 by KCCI.com. The Associated Press contributed to this report. All rights reserved.
