Empirical Nonparametric Methods and High Dimensional Data Visualization Group Goals: The group concerns with research on two different but complementing broad areas of empirical nonparametrics and high dimensional data visualization. Nonparametric bootstrap methods are used to conduct statistical inference in spatio-temporal models, model-based estimation in survey sampling, and additive models. On high dimensional data visualization, we study sparsity in relation to data visualization and clustering, examine the implications of certain time series attributes, and other problems and issues usually encountered in data mining and other activities related to business intelligence.
